Darren is Of Counsel to Casey Parrot LLC. Darren’s practice focuses on the federal tax law analysis of municipal debt issuances, with a particular emphasis on education financing, economic development projects, development districts, 501(c)(3) borrowers, and tax controversy matters (IRS audits and closing agreement requests).

He advises 501(c)(3) organizations with respect to general corporate matters, formation of subsidiary entities, conflicts of interest and other policy matters, tax compliance, and excise tax matters.

Darren has also assisted in structuring lease financings and assisting issuers and conduit borrowers with post-issuance compliance matters. He has served as special tax counsel to issuers, conduit borrowers and other law firms in tax and public finance engagements.
